Google will Show AMP URLs before App Deep Link URLs in Mobile Results!!

If you have AMP URLs active on your website, when users download your mobile app Google won’t be sending them to app deep link URLs!

Google mobile app indexing vs AMP page

Another update to the data anomalies page as on September 20, 2016 says that,

“Search results on mobile devices have begun to direct users to the equivalent AMP page, in preference to the equivalent app or web page. This might result in a decrease of traffic to your app pages when an equivalent AMP page exists”
That means App indexing users may see a drop in the impressions and clicks because AMP now will be listed before App URLs.

Google will now have AMP trump App URLs in the Google mobile search results. Google App Indexing is a system that allows people to click from listings in Google’s search results into apps on their Android and iOS smartphones and tablets. If website has both AMP URLs enabled and also has a mobile app with Firebase App indexing, Google will show the user, even if they downloaded your app, the AMP URL over the deep link to the page within your app.

Google’s John Mueller confirmed this for me on Twitter saying, “Yes, at the moment if an AMP exists for a given URL then we will send the user to that AMP not the deep link.”

John Muller on twitter says AMP exists

After this update is rolling out, Users who download the app will be taken to the AMP URL instead your App URL.

Twitter purchase race: Google and Disney are out; Sales force CEO is fench now

Source: Techfirst
The Twitter acquisition talks are slowly, but surely, picking up momentum. Till a few weeks back, Google, Disney and Sales force were being considered as strong contenders for the buyout, but according to Recode, Google currently has no plans to make a bid for Twitter. Apple, which was also being speculated to make a bid, is an unlikely candidate now. And there are reports confirming that Disney too is out of the race thereby leaving just Sales force in the running.

Google which was considered to be a likely candidate to make the bid, had even hired the services of Lazard Ltd, an investment bank, to evaluate the option as well as see how it compared with other potential bidders such as Walt Disney and Sales force.

Twitter itself hired Goldman Sachs Group Inc and Allen & Co to attract potential buyers after it got feelers from Sales force.

Twitter itself hired Goldman Sachs Group Inc and Allen & Co to attract potential buyers after it got feelers from Sales force.

Twitter sale is happening

Both Recode and Wall Street Journal confirm that the twitter is definitely on the table. In fact WSJ said that Twitter is expected to field bids this week. Reuters reports that Twitter has told its potential acquirers that it is seeking to conclude negotiations by selling itself by its third quarter earning call on 27 October according to its sources.
The timeline is quite ambitious considering Twitter only began sale consideration last month. According to Reuters, this is Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s way to providing clarity to its shareholders and employees over the company’s future.

Sales force CEO Marc Benioff has been building a case to convince Sales force investors why it makes sense for the company to buy Twitter. Apart from being a well known consumer brand, Twitter also sits on a pile of data which can be used to advantage by a CRM such as Sales force.

Benioff considers Twitter to be an ‘unpolished jewel’ with untapped potential. According to him Twitter hasn’t cracked the potential in advertising, e-commerce and other data-rich applications which are important components for future growth.

“I’m looking hard at unique data-rich companies and what I can do to make them more powerful and innovative if combined with Sales force,” Benioff had said in a recent interview.

Twitter’s data trove can be used by the CRM leader to mine data for artificial intelligence driven analysis as well as let Sales force offer more services in sales, marketing and e-commerce.  Sales force does integrate Twitter in many of its cloud services for corporate customers.

But according to reports, Benioff is now downplaying his enthusiasm at the company’s annual Dream force event. According to Business Insider, Benioff said that Sales force looks at everything and it doesn't buy most things. “We haven’t agreed to buy that company… it’s an unpolished jewel. I think it’s a great brand and I just wish Jack [Dorsey] very well…good on his company, that’s how I look at it today,” said Benioff.

Sales force investors not really convinced

However, it seems like Salesforce investors are not yet convinced. There were reports that Salesforce stock had fell by 5.5 percent after CNBC announced that the company along with Google had shown interest in buying Twitter. The Street reports that as of Wednesday, the Salesforce share price is still down by 5 percent after Benioff called Twitter an ‘unpolished jewel’ and still believed in turning Twitter around after acquiring it.

So it seems like no one wants to buy Twitter at the moment – Salesforce CEO has been flip-flopping on the issue. Since none of the potential buyers or Twitter have issued official statements regarding the purchase, there is no clarity as to whether the sale will even happen. Twitter revenues for the second quarter this year has been around $602mn.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai at the launch discussed the company's efforts with artificial intelligence and machine learning to build tools like the Google Assistant. To recall, the Google Assistant was first unveiled at Google I/O, and has already reached the general public with the Google Allo instant messaging app. Rick Osterloh, the new head of Google's newly formed hardware division, introduced the presence of Assistant in two new surfaces - in the context of the Pixel phone, and the Google Home speaker.

IBM and 'Cisco' to carry Watson to the workplace

PC: IBM Social
IBM and 'Cisco' have declared they will partner to build a collection of cloud-based office tool and programs filled with IBM Watson. 'Cisco' Ignite and WebEx collaborative workplace systems will be incorporated with IBM’s reasoning cooperation alternatives, such as Line and Relationships, and underpinned by IBM’s intellectual processing.

The organizations aim to create cooperation simple by mixing IBM’s Watson and email and social promotions with Cisco’s cooperation alternatives, such as business texting, conference and contacting promotions. The organizations said in a declaration that they will design alternatives that take advantage of all kinds of information which will be accomplished by providing right ideas in the right perspective. Blackberry moves away from smart phone - more bring to focus on software and security

It’s official: BlackBerry is no longer committed  to making its maintain hardware.

The announcement was made or as a substitute, it was mentioned as an adjoining – in BlackBerry’s approaching  recent money on hand report. “The company plans to close all internal hardware development and will outsource that function to partners,” circulating John Chen, BlackBerry CEO, in a statement. “This allows us to minimize capital requirements and enhance overcome on invested capital.

“We are reaching an inflection point with our strategy,” Chen added. “Our financial foundation in strong, and our pivot to software is taking hold.”

The company’s move towards software, security and enterprise mobility plate form (EMM) has been coming and inferred in recent announcements; not least the partnership struck up earlier this month with mobile threat management platform provider Zimperium to give enterprise and government customer grater security for iOS and Android devices.

In July, BlackBerry had to clarify its strategy around its smart phone portfolio after issuing a missive which was later claimed as being misinterpreted by media, fans, and customers alike. Marty Beard, BlackBerry chief operating officer, said that the company was still committed to its traditional keyboard as well as the BB10 platform.

Yet much more of signs were there that BlackBerry had run its course in the hardware plateform. past year, BlackBerry and Google announced a partnership designed towards protecting Android enterprise mobile devices. At the time, Nelson Smith, a contributor for The Motley Fool and a BB shareholder, said that while the company had a bright future in software and security, it was “doomed to fail in the smart phone space.”

With regard to being enterprise focused, this was key. As long past of 2014, when the firm released its square shaped passport phone, the device’s extraordinary features – the 4.5 inch screen, the superior 60 characters per line screen limit –proved it evident that the phone was all of the work and plays jaws .

When it comes to EMM, BlackBerry has among much surer ground in recent times, leaping into the winners’ enclosure in Gartner’s most recent EMM Magic Quadrant. One part of this was evidently down to the company’s acquisition of recent technology, previously a leader in the space on its own, for $425 million this time last year.

Speaking to expert analyst, as transcribed by Seeking Alpha, Chen made it clear – as he has done throughout most of his tenure as CEO – that his focusing strategy when taking over was to tidy up the balance sheets, investing in new technologies, such as Internet of things (IOT) and connected cars, and create new tactics of business models through licensing BlackBerry’s technology and intellectual property.

“Overall, we trust  this is a very fabulous and model as we are getting lots of interest around the universe for bringing BlackBerry brand device to market with the security and user experience.

SAP and Apple collaborate to hook up SAP HANA Cloud hosting Platform with iOS

Inside a move that has not thoroughly impressed experts, SAP and Apple have announced collaboration that will allow iOS applications to hook up with SAP HANA Cloud Platform. Developers will be able to build native iOS applications structured on SAP HANA Cloud Platform (HCP). These applications will be able to access the core data and business processes from S/4HANA while benefiting from iPhone and iPad features, such as Touch IDENTITY fingerprint recognition, Location Providers and Notifications.

Kevin Ichhpurani, an SAP exec vice president, said: "The purpose is to deliver new activities for customers with either new applications or new  activities with existing applications for a more beautiful, powerful and engaging experience. This comes through profound design collaboration between the two companies. We'll introduce and colocate resources jointly, and they're going to be instrumental in the appearance of our new solutions, but there will also be engineering collaboration.

Ichhpurani added: "Those developers who would like to build enterprise-level applications can be able to leverage the HCP SDK to extend any SYSTEMS APPLICATIONS PRODUCTS (SAP) solution and build development advancement creativity on top of  (SAP) and non-SAP programs without leaving the development environment that they are comfortable with. They might be able to actually drag and drop SYSTEMS APPLICATIONS micro services, which could be a tax calculations or a shopping basket, in to the iOS application. So, this allows us to visit after a much larger developer community to innovate and influence SAP.

Yet industry observers have not shown much interest in the development. The effort will also include an application developer's "training academy" that will imbibe best practices in development for iOS and SAP HCP. The iOS SDK and the training academy are expected to be generally available by the end of 2016.

Jon Reed, co-founder of Diginomica, said: "I would take the S/4HANA aspects with a grain of salt, in terms of they are trumpeting S/4HANA getting real-time data. Obviously, a developer would need access to that environment, but there are just not that many S/4HANA environments out there. SAP can make some hay about this by working on some software that show off real-time products, like a predictive maintenance iphone app where they'll have live real-time information, but you don't need S/4HANA and real-time data to build cool mobile applications.
